Commissioner Bieńkowska presented the new Single Market Strategy launched on 28 October. She informed that 22 targeted actions will be delivered between now and 2018 in order to make the best use of the Single Market. Amongst them guidelines on collaborative economy and regulated professions, new rules on business insolvency, European Pact for start-ups, a new electronic Services Passport, and a modern framework for standards, procurement procedures and intellectual property.
The Commissionintends to work with Member States/market participants to create a real cultureof compliance for Single Market rules.The Commission will strengthen mutualrecognition to open up more opportunities to companies that want to expandcross-border. It will also reinforce market surveillance in the area of goodsto keep non-compliant products from the EU market. And it will propose a marketinformation tool, which will allow the Commission to collect comprehensive,reliable and unbiased information from selected market players with a view toimprove the Commission's ability to monitor and enforce EU rules in priorityareas.
