This study Challenges and Opportunities for the Internal Market and Consumer Protection in the area of Services analyses the opportunities and potential benefits – in aggregate and by sector - from further freeing up of transatlantic services trade via improvements in market access, regulatory cooperation and service provider mobility. The study also considers the EU’s defensive interests in maintaining consumer standards and the government’s right to regulate and draws on the innovations and lessons to be taken from other recent EU preferential trade agreements. This is a short overview of this study.
