Highlights - Control of the acquisition and possession of weapons: committee debate - 20.04.16 - Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection

The IMCO Committee will go over the amendments to the proposal on the Firearms Directive on 20.04.16. These amendments seek to, amongst others: clarify the definition of essential components; amend provisions on blank-firing weapons, on replicas, signal weapons and medical tests; reintroduce the Member States exception for category A authorisations; define stricter conditions on authorisations for historical purposes; and introduce storage requirements.
