Highlights - Tonio Borg approved as new Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection - Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection

During the plenary sitting of 21.11.12, in Strasbourg, Members approved the nomination of Mr Tonio Borg as new Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection by 386 votes in favour, 281 against and 28 abstentions. Mr Borg was nominated by the Maltese government to replace Mr John Dalli, following his resignation as Health Commissioner. The vote in plenary took place after the hearing held by ENVI in association with IMCO and AGRI, on 13.11.12.
