Highlights - The functioning of franchising in the retail sector: adoption of draft report - Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection

The report on the functioning of franchising in the retail sector will be adopted in the IMCO committee of 11 May. The 132 amendments tabled ask for a freedom of the parties to contract and for a minimalist intervention, call for a need for protection of franchisees, and focus on equality of terms between the parties. Franchising is a particular sector with specific features, and with a great deal to offer in terms of growth and jobs in the Union.
