Highlights - Geo-blocking and other forms of discrimination: Plenary debate and vote - Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection

The report on geo-blocking and other forms of discrimination based on customers' nationality, place of residence or of establishment, tabled by the Committee on Internal Market, will be discussed and voted by Parliament on 05-06.02.18. Amongst other things, the proposed regulation defines situations when there can be no justified reason for discrimination on grounds of nationality or residence, and bans the blocking of access to websites and the use of automatic re-routing without prior consent.
