Highlights - Approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles: vote in Plenary - Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection

Parliament will discuss and vote the provisional interinstitutional agreement on the proposed legislation on approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, during its plenary sittings of 18-19.04.18. The text removes the time limit on the validity of type-approval certificates, requires Member States to provide sufficient funds for market surveillance activities, and empowers the Commission to carry out assessments of the procedures put in place, amongst other things.
