Highlights - Type approval of motor vehicles: consideration of draft opinion - Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection

On 4 December Members considered the draft opinion on the proposal Type approval of motor vehicles with respect to emissions from light passenger and commercial vehicles and on access to repair and maintenance information. IMCO has exclusive competence for provisions on repair and maintenance information solely. The draft opinion aims at clarifying the regime though which independent operators will be granted access to repair and maintenance information for vehicles, and intends to introduce

a shorter timeframe for the exercise of the delegation of powers by the European Commission.
