On 8 June pm, Members will exchange views with Commissioner Reynders on the New Consumer Agenda and the adjusted Commission 2020 Work Programme following the COVID-19 outbreak.
The initial Commission Work Programme announced the publication of a New Consumer Agenda Communication by the end of 2020, alongside new legislative initiatives regarding notably consumers in the green transition and consumer credit agreements.
Commissionner is expected to present the key aspects of the new Consumer Agenda, as well as of future consumer policy proposals. Recent developments as regards contact tracing apps and current issues faced by consumers and businesses in the tourism sector, addressed in the recent Commission Recommendation on vouchers, are likely to be mentioned in the meeting, in light also of recent announcements of Member States opening up again for tourism in summer.
