The digital revolution has brought several advantages and opportunities to move towards a much greener economy. How to adapt the Digital Single Market and help European businesses and consumers to achieve these new green and digital policy objectives would be a matter for discussion during the first meeting in this mandate.
Background Info:
The IMCO Working Group on the Digital Single Market (IMCO WG on the DSM) was set up by the IMCO Coordinators in 2011, during the 7th Legislature of the European Parliament.
In total, since its creation, 34 meetings of the Working Group have already been held.
On 22 January 2020, the IMCO Coordinators decided to renew the mandate to continue with the works of the WG during the 9th Legislature and nominated MEP Roza Thun (EPP-PL) and MEP Svenja Hahn (Renew-DE) as Co-Chairs. Due to the covid-19 crisis, the works were temporarily suspended, to be restarted in the next meeting on 31 May 2021.
