Highlights - Protecting workers from asbestos - Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection

The Committee will vote on an opinion to EMPL´s INL report under Rule 57 of the Rules of Procedure on aspects that concern the screening before selling or renting out a building and the proposal to establish asbestos certificates for buildings that were built before 2005.

Members tabled 72 amendments to the draft opinion by the Rapporteur, Ms Anne-Sophie Pelletier (The Left). The Rapporteur has proposed 16 compromise amendments covering all elements to which amendments had been tabled. EMPL will vote its opinion on 27 September.
