On 3rd September, IMCO Members will vote on the draft report on rules and procedures for compliance with and enforcement of Union harmonisation legislation on products. The draft report proposes harmonisation of methodology and criteria for assessing risks between Member States, as well as harmonisation of conditions for inspections of certain products. It seeks to strengthen market surveillance of online sales by requiring Member States to have an appropriate number of ‘online inspectors’.
The vote on the mandate to enter into interinstitutional negotiations will take place immediatly after the vote on the draft report.
