Highlights - Mutual recognition of goods lawfully marketed in another Member State - Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection

On 3rd September, IMCO Members will vote on the draft report on the Proposal for a Regulation on the Mutual Recognition of Goods. The Rapporteur supports the further strengthening of cross-border cooperation and communication between Member States. He proposes to reinforce the Product Contact Points as the main communication channel for mutual recognition, and to establish a Coordination Group to ensure the European value of the mutual recognition principle.

The vote on the mandate to enter into interinstitutional negotiations will take place immediatly after the vote on the draft report.
