On 22 January, IMCO Members adopted by 37 - 1 - 1 the report on "Better enforcement and modernisation of EU consumer protection rules", part of the “New Deal for Consumers” package). The mandate to start inter-institutional negotiations was also adopted. The compromise and the other amendments, which were adopted, cover issues such as the right of withdrawal, doorstop-selling, transparency of online marketplaces, online reviews, dissuasive penalties to tackle breaches of consumer laws and also
refer to the introduction of a new blacklisted unfair commercial practice relating to dual quality of products.
